This week's assembly is about VE day, and offers some connections with our situation today. It's told from the point of view of my father, who was nearly 5 at the time.

The Oxford Owl is a fantastic free resource for help parents educate their children, with guides and documents across key subjects, it also includes free e-reading books for children between 3 and 11.

Khan Academy
One of the best free educational apps for all students. The app’s mission is to provide a free and world-class education for all curious minds across key subjects. Khan Academy has a unique way to drive knowledge into your brains. All lessons are in forms of video tutorials. Videos display a recording of drawings on a virtual blackboard (like a teacher giving a lecture). And the narrator describes each lesson through these drawings.

Without a doubt one of the best educational resources available in the world today, with a catalogue of resources created by the BBC linked to the UK syllabus.
There is also a sister app called Bitesize revision available on the app and Play stores.
