Welcome to Hope Class

Our classroom is a safe and supportive space where children are encouraged to try their best and celebrate their achievements. We value kindness, respect and teamwork, and we aim to build not only strong learners but also confident and caring individuals.

P.E. Days: Our P.E lessons are on Monday and Wednesday. Please ensure that children come into school wearing their P.E. kit. This consists of a navy PE t-shirt, jumper, shorts and jogging bottoms. Trainers of any colour can be worn on PE days. These logo items can be purchased from Karlsports in Kettering.

Reading Book Change Day: Children are encouraged to read daily, and they can change their own books in our library. We ask that parents record when they have heard their child read in the child’s reading record book. Children are also asked to record when they have read independently but this must be signed off by an adult. Their reading records will be checked on Tuesday.

Spellings: Spelling lists are sent home on Mondays, and the children are tested daily during English lessons.

Support Learning at home: Times Table practice - ‘TTRockstars’. Information on how to access this App will be sent home with your child’s username and login details.

Our Walk-in Wednesday’s take place each term. We look forward to welcoming you into class to share different aspects of the children’s learning.

Snacks / Drinks: Children are allowed to bring in their own morning healthy snack (no chocolate, crisps or nuts) We also encouraged children to bring a labelled bottle of water to drink during the day. We kindly ask that no fizzy drinks are brought into school.

School Trip: This year we are taking the children to The Science Museum in Birmingham. We will be engaging in a workshop about electricity.

We will also have an immersive Greek day in school where a theatre group will be coming in to share Greek Myths.

Communication ~ Let’s stay connected

There are several ways that school will communicate with you.

Emails are sent for our Weekly Bulletin, Termly Newsletters and Adhoc information.

Text Messages - Alerts (e.g. school trips) / key information.

School Website - Has a wealth of information. https://www.stmaryscebl.info

You will receive regular updates through our Weekly Bulletin that is emailed on a Friday and a Newsletter which is emailed home at the end of each term.

Also look out for our Instagram pic5Instagram Page
and our Facebook pic5 Facebook Page to see what is happening in school.

We encourage parents to share concerns—big or small—as early as possible. Open communication helps us support your child in the best way.

Please note that class teachers are unable to speak with parents during morning drop-off or at the end of the school day.

If you’d like to arrange a meeting, simply contact the school office:

Tel: 01536 722757
